In the beginning of 2024, astrology gave us space to reflect and release the unneeded energies of 2023. When you softly hold things that need to be grieved, a lightness of clarity follows. I hope that as 2023 becomes 2024, you are supported by your favorite form of transition activity to let go of the unnecessary 2023 burdens. If you have not had the opportunity, and wish to further your practice for creativity's sake, listen to my Bring to a Boyle 2023:2024 transition podcast.
Next week, we will make a loving oath to our creative self, working towards a spiritual itinerary to explore the broad astrological signatures of 2024, which include:

This weekend, one of the biggest astrology news of 2024 happened-Pluto re-entered Aquarius. We have now stepped both feet firmly into the truth of moving out of the Piscean motto, “What’s in it for me?” and into the Aquarian motto, “How can my actions benefit the whole?” [side note, the whole also includes you.]
Pluto signatures are intense and call for a fair amount of spiritual planning. As the astrology ignites this year, it is my astrological recommendation to use these first three months of 2024 to submerge within yourself and get clear on how you use your raw creative meaning. I say this because the mundane/world astrology becomes complicated and chaotic in April and remains complex and heavy from July on. Now is the time to get centered, and stable and create your own spiritual ‘go’ bag.
What should you put in your spiritual ’go’ bag?
Your sweat healing balm to self-soothe strategy
A reminder note to use compassion generously, constantly return to your heart center
Boundary compass that shows healthy perimeters for giving and taking
Hope <3 to help you work with and despite your deepest wound
In the creative cycle, Pluto can be seen as the end of a project. The 7th, and final, completion stage. This is the finishing and letting go of your project and this aging and release phase that for some will require extra support. How, this year, can you ask for extra support if you need it? When will you know it’s time?
The transformation this stage calls for is greatly aided by visualizing a strong, balanced peaceful completion.
For the creative, envision yourself rested and positively handling passing the final draft off to the editor. See yourself professionally and joyously talking with people about your artist experience at a gallery opening. Feel yourself finishing the final dance performance with ease and grace. The seeds of your next project lay dormant in the completion of this one, may they be seeds of splendor.
Using astrology to chart your year, envision yourself using Pluto entering the humane sign of Aquarius as a signal to envision yourself calmly and wholly overseeing change in the Aquarius house of your chart.
For you personally, the house that holds Pluto in your natal chart is likely the place of most dramatic suffering experienced in this life. By contrast, Pluto entering Aquarius affects us all and for the next 20+ years calls for change in our shared resources, air quality, technology and perhaps the very way we think. Pluto brings not just truth, but harsh truth.
Associated with recklessness, obsession, transcendence, secrets, and taboos, Pluto themes have the potential to be a tad bit triggering, bringing a heaviness with a nod to the humbling nature of death.
Pluto Generations
Pluto takes about 248 years to make a complete cycle of the zodiac, spending anywhere from 12 to 32 years in a sign at a time. Pluto leaving Capricorn and entering Aquarius marks a whole new tone in a generation.
Astrologer Wendell Perry says, “Pluto’s sign shows us how a generation will react to the major events of their time, particularly the events that overshadow their youth and young adulthood. Pluto reveals how a generation will internalize those events and make them part of their personal mythology. In other words, through the natal sign position of Pluto, we see how a generation is created by the time in which they live.”
Pluto in Aquarius- 2023-2044. This is the generation of radical transformation through worldwide cooperation, voluntarily or no. The promise of this generation lies in the people and their ability to make scientific breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity. It is likely the 20 years Pluto is in Aquarius, the way science is viewed will change.
Pluto in Pisces- 2043-2068. Obsessed with spiritual at-one-ment, this creative generation will break down traditional artistic forms to pave the way for a new and spiritually-infused creative renaissance.
Pluto in Aries- 2066-2095. You say you want a revolution? Well, you know, the ability to overturn traditions and start anew starts now.
Pluto in Taurus- 2095-2127. Earth-shaking economic change, transforming material production and monetary processes.
Pluto in Gemini- 2127-2157. Born to be obsessively curious, a Pluto in Gemini person can bounce back and forth from inquisitiveness, and skepticism, making them a tough nut to crack.
Pluto in Cancer- 1912-1939. Deep understanding of intuition and emotions that are very high, business-driven.
Pluto in Leo- 1939-1956. These people have heightened powers in leadership especially if Pluto or Leo is prominent in natal promise.
Pluto in Virgo- 1957-1971. There is a tendency to be obsessive. This also worsens the potential to be overly critical.
Pluto in Libra- 1972-1983. There is a tendency to intensify the natural idealism of what house Pluto lands in.
Pluto in Scorpio- 1984-1995. This is Pluto’s home and its influence is greater here. This adds intensity and a sense of purpose to express their power. Perry says “These are folks who tend to honor function over ideology, with a vision that emphasizes responsibility and practicality.”
Pluto in Sagittarius- 1996-2008. This generation could use wisdom in healing and transformative ways but run the risk of taking themselves too seriously.
Pluto in Capricorn- 2009-2023. This generation will see the destruction and transformation of old structures, particularly governments into new and enduring ones.
